They have a rugged chromed plastic body inside a protective, comfortable rubber grip casing, and a strong push button lock. The blade is nylon coated for extra durability. Carpenter’s models come in 3 different lengths and have a striking high-contrast Black and White blade with large, easy to read numbers. Engineer’s model has a hi-vis yellow blade with dual scales of 10ths/100ths and Feet/Inches. Both Carpenter’s and Engineer’s tapes have an impressive 8′ Standout.
